Cub Scouts is the second section of the Scouting family and is open to anyone between the ages of 8-11 years old. It was originally started in 1916 for the younger brothers of Scouts who wanted a 'look in', however today things are very different! The most significant change in that time is Scouting now admits both boys and girls.
We currently operate one Cub Pack at Staplegrove, who meet on a weekly basis. The programmes we run are varied and exciting, as well as being challenging for our young people. These challenges are often rewarded by a badge or award, more details of which can be found under the Badges and Awards page. Earning a badge is a real credit to any Cub Scout, and offers them some recognition for all their hard work and time. They should be worn on the uniform with pride. A diagram detailing exactly where each badge should go on the uniform can be found under the Badges and Awards page.
