This is the agreed order of priority for children wishing to join Staplegrove Cubs. Please note, there is a maximum of 24 young people per section due to the size of the hut.
Age when 8 years
Existing Beavers when they move up
Transfer from cub packs from another group
Children of: Leaders, Executive Committee members, a 'Staplegrove Hoody parent'
A transfer from Rainbows/ Brownies
Order of enquiring to be added onto the joining list (if the young person applying to join us is not a Beaver)
Please note: 'Staplegrove Hoody parents' are friends, parents or grandparents of any young person who is a member of Staplegrove Scout Group. This role is more informal with no commitment to be part of the Executive Committee or Leadership team. However, and more importantly to us, you will become involved and part of the group helping us with: fundraising activities, hut and ground maintenance, working parties and campsite tasks. Hoody members will need to complete the usual DBS clearance forms to check you are safe to be involved with working alongside children. This is a Scout Association Policy for all adults involved with the movement, to make sure all our young people are safe.
Code of Conduct
We have a code of conduct within Staplegrove Scout Group. Each section has drawn up their own code of conduct which is relevant to their own section. The leaders will share this with the young people and occasionally ask them to review this and change any ideas or rules as they feel appropriate. These codes of conduct are displayed on the sections individual notice boards inside the hut. The code of conduct will then form the rules for each section and these will then form the basis of the individual sections behavioural requirements.
