Beaver Scouts are the youngest section of the Scouting family, open to anyone between the ages of 6-8 years old. Our Beaver section here at Staplegrove is extremely popular, offering young people the chance to take their first steps into the Scouting family.
Each programme is based around having fun, playing games, making new friends and getting outdoors. There are also a range of badges that Beavers can work towards, both individually and as a Colony. These are detailed under Badges and Awards, however they vary from Activity Badges to Challenge Awards. Regardless of the number of badges and awards any Beaver manages to achieve, the most important part is having a go and doing their best.
Our Beaver Colony meet once a week, and always welcome new members, as well as adult leaders and helpers. Due to the age and nature of Beaver Scouts, parent support is continually required, often to help at Colony meetings. This is normally done on a rota basis.
